program notes:
folded breath explores a cycle of sound made from long phrases that fold and break.
Each phrase begins from the sound of the tubular bell and grows over its harmonics.
Other instruments join and move around this sound, then fade it out or cut it off sharply.
Sometimes the phrases connect gently, other times they break with pressure, like a breath suddenly stopped.
The piece moves between tension and release, always shifting but never fully ending.

composed for: one percussionist, stereo fixed audio and live electronics with sensor
program notes: small, loose particles of stone or sand on the flowers.
The pitch of the sound that came into the microphone was adjusted using an arduino ultrasonic sensor. The possibility of sound of percussion instruments was explored, and it is a concern about sound expansion.
